The China Medical City (Shanghai) Investment Promotion Conference took place in Zhangjiang, East China's Shanghai, on Aug 3.
Located in Taizhou city in Jiangsu province, China Medical City signed 20 project contracts, with a combined investment of 6 billion yuan ($831.5 million), at the conference.
These projects cover areas such as biological drugs, chemical drugs, raw materials, and medical devices.
Zhangjiang is one of the most concentrated core areas of China's biopharmaceutical industry, and it is a good example for China Medical City to learn from, according to Jiang Peng, an official of Taizhou.
Taizhou has already established an offshore innovation center in Zhangjiang. An induction ceremony for its first five enterprises to settle in was also held on Aug 3, marking the center’s formal start on project incubation work.
Moreover, China Medical City began cooperation with the G60 science and technology platform in Shanghai. Both parties will work together in fields such as investment and operation, industrial collaboration, incubation and innovation, and industrial services.
