The Taizhou Medical High-tech Zone, also known as Gaogang district, in Taizhou in East China's Jiangsu province, has streamlined its approval process for major projects to expedite their construction.
According to the new system, a project will be deemed to have received implied consent and the application process will move to the next stage if the municipal department fails to finish its assessment and approval within the designated period.
A lithium battery and system integration project worth 3 billion yuan ($422,142) was the first to benefit from the new system – it took only eight working days for the company to receive approval for a construction permit.

The zone is aiming to shorten the approval time for all project phases to just 30 working days.
A special group comprising members of the government and enterprises has also been established by the zone's administrative examination and approval bureau to help companies solve problems.
To date, the zone has provided over 30 on-site services and helped solve over 100 problems for local enterprises.
