Two athletes from Anji county in Huzhou, Zhejiang province, have won six gold medals and one bronze for China at the 2026 ICF Hangzhou Super Cup and ICF Dragon Boat World Championships, held at the Fuyang Water Sports Center in Hangzhou from Sept 30 to Oct 3.

Tong Yihan, the drummer for China's dragon boat team, competed in the dragon boat events and won six gold medals in the women's and mixed eight-paddler races over 200m, 500m, and 2,000m.

Born in 2011, Tong began training at Anji's youth sports school in March 2022. She has since won several medals at provincial youth canoeing competitions, including silver in the girls' Group B canoe double 500m and bronze in the 200m at Zhejiang's 18th Provincial Games in 2026.

Ji Bowen, also from Anji, teamed up with Ma Yanan to win bronze in the mixed 5,000-meter canoe sprint relay. Ji, who won Olympic gold in the men's canoe double 500m at Paris 2024, arrived in Hangzhou shortly after competing at the Nagoya Asian Games.

The event drew more than 1,000 athletes from 42 countries and regions and featured nearly 100 Olympic and world champions.
