Huzhou food products gain ground in overseas markets
Exports of instant grain-based food products and pastries from Huzhou, Zhejiang province, exceeded 6.3 million yuan ($941,052) from January to August, up 96.3 percent year-on-year, according to Huzhou Customs.
Local food producers have been adjusting recipes, production processes, and preservation techniques to meet the requirements of overseas markets.
Zhiweiguan Food, which has a factory in Anji county, has introduced lower-sugar products and improved preservation techniques for long-distance transport. Its Chinese pastries are now sold in more than 10 countries and regions, and the company's overseas sales rose nearly 10 percent in the first eight months.

In Changxing county, Zhejiang Aokun Food, a producer of frozen bakery products, reported strong year-on-year growth in exports while expanding into European and US markets.
Zhejiang Moganshan Food in Deqing county has also expanded its export offerings to include preserved fruit, fruit-flavored gummies, and pickled seaweed.
Huzhou Customs said it has provided food exporters with guidance on market access requirements, inspection rules, and customs clearance procedures, while introducing measures to shorten clearance times.
