Jinya New Materials in Changxing county, Huzhou, Zhejiang province, is expanding production as overseas demand for its self-adhesive labels grows.
According to Zhang Mingming, the company's chairman, export value reached 80 million yuan ($11.92 million) from January to August, up about 20 percent year-on-year, with orders booked through the end of the year.
To meet growing demand, Jinya New Materials put a new materials project into operation in 2025, with a total investment of $32 million. This new plant has an annual capacity for 20 million radio frequency identification (RFID) labels, 200 million square meters of label stock, and 100 million sq m of self-adhesive labels.
The company selects adhesives for different applications to meet overseas customers' requirements for water resistance, wear resistance, sun resistance, and stable adhesion. The labels remain attached without deforming in cold storage at -20 C or in containers at between 40 C and 50 C.
The company is also using smart warehouses, robots, and mechanical arms to improve efficiency and reduce product losses, and plans to add three more automated production lines this year. Zhang said annual output value is expected to reach 400 million to 500 million yuan in two to three years.
