Zhili town in Huzhou, Zhejiang province, is welcoming the peak season of school uniform production with orders surging in many companies.
At Zhejiang Maikaisidun Brand Management, orders from Shenyang, Liaoning province, have continued since August after Liaoning opened market-based procurement of school uniforms.
The factory produces about 5,000 uniforms a day, with second-half output expected to reach 300,000 to 400,000 sets, said General Manager Li Gang.
The company also combines livestreaming with physical stores, allowing parents to learn about information such as fabric and size online.
Another company, Huzhou Hanyitonger Garment, is producing more than 50,000 uniforms for Haikou, Hainan province, with its total orders expected to rise 40 percent this year, according to General Manager Shan Xiaohai.
As competition grows, manufacturers are upgrading fabrics, tailoring, and quality control. Hanyitonger Garment has also added traceability codes so parents can check product information and inspection reports.
Zhili has more than 400 school uniform-related companies, with annual output exceeding 70 million sets. The "Zhili school uniform" regional brand also launched a plan this year to bring school uniforms to more cities and stores.
