Three Huzhou athletes to compete at 2026 Asian Games

Three athletes from Huzhou, Zhejiang province, have been selected to compete in canoe sprint, shooting, and basketball for China's delegation at the 2026 Asian Games.

Ji Bowen, from Anji county, won gold in the men's canoe double 500m at the Paris 2024 Olympics with Liu Hao. He also won the men's canoe single 1,000m title at the 2025 National Games and two 500m titles at the 2026 Asian Canoe Sprint Championships.

Han Jiayu, from Changxing county, won the women's 10m air rifle title at the 2023 ISSF World Championships and set a qualifying world record of 636.3 points at the ISSF World Cup in Baku in May 2024. At the 19th Hangzhou Asian Games, she won two golds and one silver.

Li Yuezhou, also from Changxing, averaged 15 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 4.4 assists at the 2024 FIBA U17 Basketball World Cup, shooting 52.9 percent from 3-point range. He was promoted to Zhejiang Chouzhou Golden Bulls — a Chinese Basketball Association team — in 2025 and was first called up to the national men's training squad in May 2026.

From local sports training to the national stage, these Huzhou athletes will face new challenges at the Asian Games.
