The Yangtze River Delta Silk Culture Industrial Park in Nanxun district, Huzhou, Zhejiang province, recently recorded more than 30,000 visits in a single day, marking its highest daily attendance to date.

The park was developed from 32,000 square meters of idle factory space in May 2025. Its first two phases, covering 55,000 sq m, are now fully occupied by more than 200 businesses. The "Source of Silk" Culture Industrial Block, part of the park's third phase, opened in June.

Silk is deeply embedded in Nanxun's history. Jili village boasts a centuries-old tradition of sericulture and silk reeling, and a silk factory in Linghu town, established in 1946, was designated as one of China's first national industrial heritage sites in 2017.

The industrial park brings previously scattered silk businesses together, combining storefronts with production facilities.

Jiuguan subdistrict in Nanxun is now home to more than 400 silk processing companies and over 100 livestreaming e-commerce businesses, with annual sales exceeding 2.2 billion yuan ($327.34 million) and the industry supporting more than 7,000 jobs.

Nanxun's silk industry generates over 8.3 billion yuan in annual revenue, with its silk fabric output accounting for one-sixth of the national total and its exports for one-fifth.

Nanxun is also developing regional silk brands and collaborating with universities, museums, and traditional craft practitioners on silk artifact restoration, heritage preservation, and brand development.
