Over 30 participants from nine countries, including Uganda, Egypt, and Nepal, visited Huzhou, East China's Zhejiang province, from June 17 to 18, exploring China's innovative practices in grassroots governance.

They participated in an exchange project on the modernization of governance systems and capacities under the Belt and Road Initiative.

The participants visited Anji county, known as the birthplace of the nation's green development philosophy that "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets". In Yucun village, where former mining sites have been repurposed into tourism attractions, the community has shifted from mining to promoting rural tourism through ecological restoration.

They also visited the Anshan Station of the Anji Green Low-Carbon Integrated Energy Supply Chain Project, which offers rapid charging, parking, and maintenance for new energy vehicles, serving as a model for achieving carbon-related goals in rural areas.

On June 18, the group visited the Wuxing District Comprehensive Governance Center. There, they learned about a one-stop service system where public requests are efficiently routed to the appropriate departments, ensuring seamless online and offline governance.

The visit concluded with a lecture on Huzhou's governance practices, sparking lively discussions among the international visitors and bringing China's grassroots governance strategies to life.
