The 2026 Paris Book Festival was held at the Grand Palais in the French capital from April 17 to 19. Among the highlights at the China Pavilion was Pindu Huzhou, or Reading Huzhou, by Zhang Xiting, a native of Huzhou, Zhejiang province.

Pindu Huzhou comprises 10 chapters with over 400,000 words. The book delves into Huzhou's history, culture, economy, and society, weaving together a number of vivid historical and cultural narratives. It offers a panoramic view of Huzhou's rich history and culture, conveying complex ideas through engaging stories.

Zhang expressed his hope that participating in the festival would serve as an opportunity to showcase the charm of Huzhou's traditional culture and urban development to French and European audiences.

The Paris Book Festival, formerly known as the Paris Book Fair, is one of Europe's major annual cultural events, promoting public engagement and cross-cultural dialogue. This year's event spotlighted the theme of "travel", attracting nearly 450 publishing houses worldwide.
