Huzhou University adopts new Chinese name

Huzhou University has adopted a new Chinese name, Huzhou shifan daxue, following approval from the Ministry of Education. Its English name remains Huzhou University.
Huzhou University is a public undergraduate institution that also offers graduate programs, with a full-time student body of approximately 17,000, including more than 2,700 master's candidates.
Located in Huzhou, Zhejiang province, the university's history dates back to 1916. In 1999, Huzhou University was founded by consolidating three former colleges and schools: Huzhou Normal Junior College, Huzhou Teacher's School, and Huzhou Teacher's Training School. The former Huzhou Medical School joined in 2000. The university started enrolling master's students independently in 2012 and was approved as a master's degree-granting institution in 2018.
The university offers programs across 11 disciplines, including education, engineering, agriculture, medicine, science, literature, economics, arts, law, management, and history.
It comprises 14 faculties, such as the Anding Honors College/School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship and the School of Economics and Management. The university also has 10 affiliated hospitals, two clinical medical schools, and 12 affiliated schools.
The campus covers about 106 hectares, with a library holding over 1.9 million volumes, and enrolls students from across China.
