Huzhou rowers gear up for Paris Paralympic Games

The Chinese team for the upcoming 2024 Paralympic Games was established on Aug 16. Among the 516 members, 59 athletes hail from Zhejiang province, with Jiang Jijian and Wu Yunlong from Huzhou to compete in the rowing events.

Jiang, born in 1992 in Deqing county, boasts an impressive rowing record, including victories in various national and international competitions. At the 2023 World Rowing Championships in Belgrade, Serbia, Jiang and his teammate won the silver medal in the PR2 Mixed Double Sculls, earning them a ticket to the Paralympics.

Wu, born in Changxing county, has also achieved notable success in rowing events, securing multiple gold medals at the National Para Games. He secured his spot at the Paralympics due to his excellent performance in the PR3 Mixed Coxed Four 2000m at the 2023 World Rowing Championships.

The 2024 Paralympic Games will be held in Paris, France, from Aug 28 to Sept 8.
