Huzhou's Ji Bowen advances to canoe semi-finals

Ji Bowen from Huzhou, Zhejiang province, and his teammate Liu Hao broke the Olympic record with a time of 1:37.40 in the men's canoe double 500m at the Paris Olympics on Aug 6.

They bypassed the quarter-finals and advanced directly to the semi-finals, which will be held on Aug 8.

Ji, born in 2002 in Anji county, Huzhou, joined the provincial canoeing team in 2015 and the national team in 2021. At the 2024 Canoe Sprint World Cup held in Poznan, Poland from May 24 to 26, Ji and his teammate won gold medals in the men's canoe double 500m and men's canoe double 1000m.
