Liaoyuan village in Moganshan town, Deqing county, Huzhou, Zhejiang province, once a traditional rural tourist destination, has obtained new vitality in recent years as entrepreneurial youths come to lighten it with their new ideas.

A forest-themed coffee shop in the village is attracting streams of tourists every day. Customers in the shop are surrounded by green plants full of vitality.

Shen Bin, born in Moganshan, returned to open the coffee shop in 2018. "I want to combine my plant studies with coffee to make the village cafe different from other commercial cafes," said Shen.

He hopes not only to promote coffee culture but also to bring a different multicultural experience to local tourism.

In addition to returning youth like Shen, many entrepreneurs hailing from other places also bring their creativity to the area. Luo Zhiqiang, who comes from Guizhou province, is waking up the village with music.

He opened Huzhou's first music-themed homestay, not only providing a new way of music entertainment but also achieving synergy among different music cultures in China and abroad.

In 2023, Liaoyuan village welcomed over 800,000 visits, generating a tourism revenue of more than 80 million yuan ($11.07 million). These young entrepreneurs not only bring economic prosperity but also foster a new model of rural development.

"We hope to see more sparks among youngsters and more differences in the village," said Shen.
