Three companies from Huzhou, East China's Zhejiang province were recently honored as national demonstration companies or platforms for service-oriented manufacturing, bringing the total number of such enterprises or platforms in the city to five.

The three companies are Xingguang Agricultural Machinery Co Ltd, OSM Biology Co Ltd and Tianneng Battery Group Co Ltd.

Headquartered in Huzhou, Xingguang is a company engaged in the R&D, manufacturing, sales and service of farm machinery and equipment. A digital agricultural production management system launched by the company has greatly reduced labor costs for farmers.

As a national high-tech enterprise specializing in the R&D, manufacturing and sales of pearl biological products, OSM has rolled out customized services in accordance with customer demands. The company is based in Huzhou's Deqing county.

Tianneng Battery Group, a leading motive battery solution provider in the new energy market in China, has developed an industrial internet platform that allows the company to integrate product production, supply chain and company management.

Service-oriented manufacturing is a new manufacturing paradigm which integrates manufacturing with service.

In 2016, China launched a campaign to boost the development of service-oriented manufacturing, which is set to play a crucial role in upgrading the nation's industrial structure.
