Huzhou's online retail sales top 60b yuan Jan-Sept

Official statistics from the Huzhou Municipal Bureau of Commerce show that the city's online retail sales hit 60.72 billion yuan ($9.34 billion) in the first three quarters of this year, rising by 22.3 percent year on year.
The growth rate ranked third in East China's Zhejiang province and was 9.2 percentage points higher than the provincial average.
Meanwhile, online consumption from local residents amounted to 36.59 billion yuan, a yearly uptick of 18.2 percent, which is the second highest in the province.
Over the same period, Huzhou's cross-border e-commerce transaction volume was valued at 7.71 billion yuan.
The city's Changxing district retained its leading role in online retail sales. The district's online retail sales volume reached about 33.17 billion yuan during the nine-month period, accounting for 54.6 percent of the city's total.
In addition, Deqing county, Changxing county and Wuxing district tallied increases of 32.7 percent, 27.8 percent and 26 percent in online retail sales, respectively, from January to September.
Among them, Changxing county has completed the cross-border e-commerce target preset for this year.
In April of last year, Huzhou received approval from the State Council to establish a comprehensive pilot zone for cross-border e-commerce.
