Autumn is possibly the best time to visit Huzhou, East China's Zhejiang province. The following are destinations that visitors shouldn't miss.
Hucheng Park is an ideal place to enjoy sweet-scented osmanthus, while Badujie Scenic Spot and Xiazhu Lake are excellent places to admire gingko leaves and reed flowers respectively.
Tourists can savor hairy crabs at Taihu Lake, as they are the most fertile in autumn, while enjoying the enchanting lakeside view.
Mogan Mountain is also worth visiting during autumn for splendid views. The mountain, located in Huzhou's Deqing county, was listed by the New York Times as one of the 45 best places in the world to visit. It is renowned for its pristine natural views, homestays, and boutique hotels.
Nanxun Ancient Town, Huzhou's only 5A national scenic area, is highly recommended as well.
Founded in 1252 during the Southern Song Dynasty (1127-1279), the town is currently among the top six ancient towns in Jiangnan, a region located in the south of the Yangtze River.
