Huzhou welcomes over 5.6m visitors during National Day holiday

Huzhou in East China's Zhejiang province received over 5.6 million visitors as of 4:00 pm on Oct 7, the last day of the seven-day National Day holiday, official data from the Huzhou Tourism Big Data Center showed.
Among the tourists, about 3.5 million were from outside the city and roughly 3.05 million opted to travel to Huzhou's rural areas.
Skyland, a scenic attraction in the city's Anji county, welcomed nearly 60,000 visitors during the seven-day break, while Taihu Lake Longemont Paradise welcomed more than 600,000 tourists.
The sampled results showed that the occupancy rate of boutique resort hotels in Huzhou was more than 85 percent from Oct 1 to 6.
In addition, the holiday period also saw a surge in consumption in Huzhou. Official statistics showed that the sales of 35 sampled enterprises, including shopping malls, supermarkets, car dealers, and cinemas, in Huzhou amounted to 293 million yuan in this time, rising by 10.3 percent year-on-year.
