Zhejiang pair rows their way to victory

Ji Bowen and Miao Feilong from East China's Zhejiang province won the gold medal in the men's 500m double sculls final at the 14th National Games in Xi'an, Shaanxi province, on Sept 25.

The Zhejiang pair edged past the Guangdong team and clocked a time of 1 minute and 46.778 seconds to win the race.

Ji, who hails from Anji county, Huzhou, and Miu also won the silver medal in the men's 1,000m double sculls final at the National Games.

Ji will compete in the men's 1,000m single scull race on Sept 26.

A record-high 112 athletes from Huzhou are attending the 14th National Games in Xi'an, which will run until Sept 27.

Billed as China's "mini Olympics", the quadrennial National Games, which was inaugurated in 1959, features an Olympic style program with the addition of the Chinese martial arts sport of wushu.
