Huzhou hotel wins WAFC award

Southern Taihu Hotel in Huzhou, East China's Zhejiang province recently won the Outstanding Design Award at the 2021 World Architecture Festival China (WAFC).
First held in 2008, WAF is the world's largest architectural awards programme and festival. WAFC is the exclusive authorized brand of WAF in the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan regions, which first took place in 2020.
This year, the organizing committee received a total of 102 entries, of which 23 were selected as the final winners by a jury composed of 29 experts from across the world.
As its name suggests, Southern Taihu Hotel is located on Xiaomei Mountain in the south of Taihu Lake. The hotel is composed of 28 buildings, with a total floorage of about 67,000 square meters.
It also sits next to Huzhou Sheraton Hotel, which is known as the "Moon Hotel" due to its architectural shape resembling a crescent moon.
The semi-circular hotel, a landmark building in Huzhou, can appear like a complete circle in a pool near Southern Taihu Hotel. The view has been attracting numerous visitors every year.
