Huzhou's imports and exports of services amounted to 6.18 billion yuan ($950.77 million) from January to July, up 95.8 percent year-on-year, official data from the Huzhou municipal bureau of commerce showed.

The growth rate ranked first among cities in East China's Zhejiang province over that period.

Separately, exports stood at 4.728 billion yuan, rising 174.7 percent year-on-year.

In the first seven months of the year, an additional 28 enterprises from the city got involved in service outsourcing, increasing the total number of such companies to 221.

Businesses were mobilized to participate in exhibitions in an effort to expand their markets at home and abroad. Nineteen businesses from the city participated in 14 professional exhibitions like the China (Shanghai) International Technology Fair during this period.

As of July, Huzhou had conducted service trade with 142 countries and regions across the world, 14 more than the same period last year.

Huzhou is home to seven provincial-level service trade development demonstration bases, including Deqing Geographic Information Town and Nanxun Intelligent Elevator Town.

The seven bases' foreign trade volume in services totaled 2.82 billion yuan over the seven-month period, up 201 percent year-on-year.

Knowledge-intensive service trade has accounted for 90 percent of the city's total service trade.
