More than 300-mu (20 hectares) of pear trees have recently entered their flowering period in Wufengshan Sports & Leisure Resort, located in Xiaofeng town, Anji county, Huzhou.

The pear trees are planted next to a 30-mu tea garden. As a result, the tea produced has a slight fragrance of pear flowers.

Sheng Changshui, a local tea farmer, said that the tea's demand outstrips supply despite being more expensive than ordinary spring tea on the market.

A festival themed on pear blossoms was also staged in the resort recently. The festival, which was in its fourth edition this year, attracted 5,000 visitors.

Pears, which are not available until the second half of the year, have been booked to be sold. Pear blossom wine and other derivatives also sell very well.

Xiaofeng has been promoting the integrated development of agriculture, culture, tourism, and the sport sectors, with pear plantations emerging as an important approach for farmers around the resort to increase their income, a head official from the town government said.

In addition to admiring pear blossoms, visitors to the resort can also try water sports, savor local cuisines, and experience several farming activities.
