Jining grows in popularity as ideal summer resort

Widely known as the “Summer Resort among China's Prairies”, Ulaanqab Prairie's geographical position has gifted the land with a temperate climate, that in summer enables visitors to spend the day in cool comfort. Locals say that while the rest of China wilts under the summer heat, tourists in Ulaanqab are free from mosquitos while staying at the summer resort and can have a good night sleep under a quilt.
Ulaanqab Prairie has vast, picturesque grasslands that are the nearest grassland resorts to Beijing, being a four-hour or so drive away. The region also boasts the glorious freshwater Daihai Lake and there are many relics and ruins of villages and ancient towns, as well as parts of the ancient Great Wall and tombs around the lake.
These days the word on Ulaanqab has spread and the leading tourist attraction, also known as the “Health Preserving Land”, is well known at home and abroad.
Jining district, the central urban area of Ulaanqab city, has a typical continental climate with four distinct seasons and an annual average temperature of 4.4 C.
Locals say that every summer, the scenery is quite simply marvelous and the climate is pleasant with an average temperature of 19 C. Even in the hottest month of July, the average temperature is merely between 20 C and 23 C.

Bawang River Ecological Park

Bawang River Ecological Park, located in the eastern part of Ulaanqab, in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, is the largest water conservation project in Jining, as well as a people-benefitting project that improves the ecological environment and benefits the lives of locals.
The park is divided into three functional sections. Upstream there basic farmland where visitors can take in an ecological sightseeing experience zone. The middle section is located amid urban terrain and the downstream section is flat, with wide riverways, serving as the restoration zone for the ecological wetlands.
The park plays a significant role in adjusting the regional microclimate, alleviating a dearth of water resources, improving the living and ecological environment, and improving conditions in the city.
