More than 90 years after the Red Army's four crossings of the Chishui River, Xinghong village, located on the river's banks, is writing a new chapter for a new era of the Long March story.
From the Red Army's unwavering commitment to serving the people to the village's current efforts to pursue change, Xinghong has carried forward the spirit of perseverance.
Dai Xiaoyong, Party secretary of the village administered by the city of Chishui, Guizhou province, gave up a high-paying job as a doctor to return to his hometown. He has led villagers in developing under-forest black-bone chicken farming, livestreamed e-commerce and putting idle resources to productive use.
Dai said these initiatives have led to more opportunities for the local residents.
"When it comes to the people, no issue is too small. Doing every small thing well is how you accomplish something big," Dai said.
