Tertiary hospital in Huangpu set to be put into use

The maternity center and emergency department at the Knowledge City campus of Zhongshan Sixth Hospital opened on March 26.

Situated in the southeast of Sino-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City Jiulong New City, the hospital is a modern comprehensive medical institution integrating medical care, prevention, health care, rehabilitation, teaching, and research.

With a total construction area of approximately 210,000 square meters and a total land area of 85,000 sq m, the campus is grand in scale, with a planned capacity of 1,000 beds.

As a comprehensive campus with a full range of disciplines, the Knowledge City campus focuses on developing disciplines such as orthopedics, sports rehabilitation, women's and children's health, critical care, and a number of internal medicine specialties, as well as extending its expertise in the digestive system and urogenital disciplines.

It allows citizens to access quality medical services close to home, extending its reach throughout Guangdong province and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. As a result, it has established itself as a leading institution within the medical service system and serves as a crucial link to grassroots healthcare services.

The surgical anesthesia center, surgical ward, and internal medicine inpatient ward have initiated their trial operations.
