By 2 pm that day, the temple fair had received over 80,000 visitors. The "Five Sons Congratulate on Nanhai King's Birthday" highlights the fair. According to folklore, Boluo and his wife have five sons. Every year, on the birthday celebration day of Boluo, villagers from 15 nearby villages near Huangpu carry the five sons' statues to the courtyard of the South China Sea Temple for blessings.
After the parade, villagers held a blessing ceremony in the Xiachen square of the Boluodan Temple. Following the ceremony, villagers from the 15 villages would set up a 1,000-person banquet in their respective ancestral halls, inviting relatives from other places to enjoy traditional sacrificial dishes and toast with longevity wine.
