The Guangzhou Maritime Museum recently collaborated with Guangzhou Metro Line 5's Huangpu Xingang Station to organize an exhibition on flowers, plants, and trees.
The exhibition tells the story of how these plants have traveled the world alongside humans, showcasing the meticulous depiction of Oriental scenery by a young British man over 250 years ago. It features thriving ancient trees and famous plants found in ancient temples, as well as Guangzhou postcards that have become popular worldwide.

The exhibition not only showcases vibrant characters and ancient legends but also exhibits four original pith paper paintings created by an intangible cultural heritage practitioner. Those familiar with the Boluodan Temple have the chance to learn about the stories behind these plants within the temple, while those who are unfamiliar can explore the stories of these plants and figures from the ancient Maritime Silk Road at Huangpu Xingang Station.

The exhibition, being held from Nov 26 to Dec 25 at the Huangpu Xingang Station exhibition hall, goes beyond being a mere extension of the museum's displays. It offers a profound journey through time and space, inviting visitors to experience the convergence of history and the present while uncovering the complex relationships between plants and humanity.
