Guangzhou Development District (GDD) hosted its first trial event for helicopter sightseeing flights on Nov 3.
The Warhorse helicopter with the registration number B-72AE flew in from the direction of Shenzhen, sporting a red and blue color scheme with the image of a warhorse and the Eastern Air Navigation symbol on its body, landing at Jiulong Lake Square that morning. In just five to six seconds, it ascended to a height of 100 meters and then flew steadily. The event lasted for two days, with 180 participants boarding the helicopter.
One of the first participants surnamed Huang, said, "We are residents of the Sino-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City. We immediately signed up when we heard that Huangpu had launched the first trial event. Today, our family of four all came."
The flight route for this event was Jiulong Lake - Jingxia village - Low-altitude Industrial Park (Folang village), allowing passengers to enjoy the Guangzhou Knowledge City's core landscapes and the Jingxia village's natural beauty.
Yang Li, assistant general manager of GDD Low-altitude Industrial Development Company, mentioned that the low-altitude industry in the Guangzhou Knowledge City is relatively developed, and places like Jingxia village and Liantang village have pleasant scenery, showing potential value for opening low-altitude routes.
The low-altitude cultural tourism market is expected to thrive in the future, with Huangpu planning to create distinctive aerial cultural tourism projects to promote diversified tourism development.
