Automotive industry in Huangpu attracts attention

In Huangpu district, Guangzhou, the automotive industry has again captured attention. On Oct 25, autonomous driving technology company WeRide went public on the NASDAQ stock exchange, becoming the world's first universal autonomous driving company.

Huangpu is home to 83 automobile manufacturing enterprises above designated size, with main business revenue above 20 million yuan ($2.74 million), with an annual production capacity of up to 960,000 vehicles, currently at a crucial stage of transitioning and upgrading from old to new energy sources.

Technological innovation, market prospects, and consumer potential are the main drivers propelling the development of the automotive industry in the district. The technological innovation of intelligent connected vehicle companies and new energy vehicle enterprises is driving the transformation of Huangpu's automotive manufacturing industry from "making" to "smart manufacturing".
