Huangpu unveils new progress on key projects

Huangpu district has recently announced new progress on several key projects. Such key projects have opened, including the Huangpu Library's new branch, Lohas Library, located in the Guangzhou Knowledge City.

 It is the first library branch in Guangzhou and was established through a collaborative effort involving the enterprise park, kindergarten, and library. Spanning approximately 600 square meters, it houses around 15,000 books and offers reading areas for children, students, and residents.

The Guangzhou Transportation University project has also made strides, with the construction contract for the new campus now open for bidding. This long-awaited project will soon break ground in Huangpu, covering a total area of 560,769 sq m. The new campus will include classrooms, laboratories, a library, faculty apartments, and various support facilities.

The expansion of the Fifth Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University has been announced. This project aims to enhance the hospital's capacity to meet the growing demand for medical services. The expansion will add 500 new beds and cover an area of 99,900 sq m. The project includes constructing new medical, research, and teaching facilities, a cultural activity center, and underground parking. The total investment for this project is capped at 587.8 million yuan ($82.53 million), with construction scheduled to start on Dec 30, 2024, and completion expected by June 30, 2029.
