Bio Island in Huangpu to undergo major changes

Huangpu district has once again received approval for the modification of the Bio Island master plan, marking a significant transformation on the horizon for the Bio Island.

Several key measures have been proposed in the plan, including strengthening industrial development and transportation construction, adding 400,000 square meters of industrial space, and flexibly controlling land use to meet the needs of industrial development.

Furthermore, the plan will promote the linkage of three islands, accelerate the aggregation and development of the biopharmaceutical industry.

In terms of transportation planning, the plan will introduce two new external passages to meet future industrial development and transportation needs, establishing a comprehensive road traffic system.

The plan also emphasizes the creation of four distinctive waterfront gateways, highlighting the characteristics of an urban green island to enhance the ecological environment and technological innovation image of Bio Island.

To attract international high-end talents, the plan also emphasizes the construction of diverse public spaces, improving the cityscape and public service facilities to create a pleasant urban environment.

These series of planned measures aim to propel Bio Island into a significant innovation center for the biopharmaceutical industry, laying a solid foundation for the rapid development of the biopharmaceutical industry in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
