Xianjiang Park: Hidden retreat for cooling off

Updated : 2024-09-12

Xianjiang Park in Huangpu district resembles a secluded sanctuary perfect for escaping the summer heat. Renowned for its century-old lychee trees, it is an excellent destination for hiking exploration.

According to records, lychee cultivation in this region dates back to the early Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), boasting a history of over 100 years. Despite a snow disaster in 1883, where 300 lychee trees miraculously survived, they continue to narrate their legendary tales of resilience against time.

The ancient lychee trees in the park have weathered a century of trials, standing tall amidst the river of time, weaving a mysterious and profound forest under dappled sunlight. Each old tree seems to bear witness to storms and sunshine, while the moss on their trunks silently testifies to the passage of time.

Ascending the carefully laid stone paths, visitors can admire intricately carved pavilions and stone benches, exuding an ancient and elegant charm. In this tranquil mountain forest, a clear mountain spring gently flows, enveloping the surroundings in profound silence, cleansing the soul with the pure sounds of nature.

The moss and stone steps along the mountain paths paint a poetic picture, but caution is advised to prevent slipping.

Xianjiang Park offers a serene escape from the hustle and bustle, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the tranquility and mystery of nature.
