Huangpu welcomes 1st citizen academy

On Sept 4, Guangzhou welcomed its first citizen college as the Changzhou Kaxiang Branch of the Huangpu Citizen Academy was unveiled, and classes started in Changzhou neighborhood.

The event attracted over 100 citizens, social workers, volunteers, new employment groups, association representatives, and visitors. They received student cards and student badges, collectively experiencing unique training courses.

The first lesson of the citizen college, themed "A Journey through the World of Coffee", initiated a distinctive learning experience.

Unlike traditional institutions, the citizen college is dedicated to providing educational training services for all citizens, disseminating the voices of the Party and government, gathering social sentiments, and jointly promoting co-construction, co-governance, and sharing to create a better life.

The Changzhou Kaxiang Branch on Changzhou Island is the first branch of the Huangpu Citizen Academy. Currently, around 60 students are undergoing training at this branch, with courses covering coffee knowledge, first aid skills, psychology, traditional Chinese medicine, and health preservation.

On the event day, over 200 cups of coffee were delivered to on-site social workers, volunteers, and delivery drivers. This was a specific initiative of the Huangpu district committee's social work department under the "Warm Light Plan", aimed at spreading warmth to more individuals.
