Xpeng Aeroht, Asia's largest flying car company and a subsidiary of Xpeng, has unveiled its groundbreaking "Land Aircraft Carrier" flying car at an exclusive preview event in Huangpu district, Guangzhou. This marks the first public appearance and test flight of the world's only vehicle capable of carrying an airplane.
The "Land Aircraft Carrier" is a split-type flying car, consisting of a ground vehicle and a flying module. The ground vehicle features a tri-axle, six-wheel design, providing 6×6 all-wheel drive and rear-wheel steering for superior load-bearing and off-road capabilities. It boasts a spacious interior with four seats and a unique trunk that can accommodate the flying module.
The flying module is equipped with a six-axis, six-propeller dual-duct configuration, manufactured from carbon fiber for high strength and lightweight performance. It offers a 270-degrees panoramic cockpit for an expansive flying view. Thanks to Xpeng Aeroht's proprietary automatic separation and integration mechanism, the vehicle can seamlessly transition between driving and flying modes.
The "Land Aircraft Carrier" is set to go on pre-sale by the end of 2024, with its public manned flight debut scheduled for the China International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition in Zhuhai this November. It will also be showcased at the Auto Guangzhou 2024.
