Huangpu welcomes 2 new national-level museums

The National Cultural Heritage Administration and the Chinese Museums Association recently announced the fifth batch of national museum evaluation and grading lists. The 1911 Revolution Museum in Huangpu was rated as a national first-class museum, while the Guangzhou Maritime Museum was rated as a second-class museum.

The 1911 Revolution Museum, a thematic memorial hall built to commemorate the 1911 Revolution led by Sun Yat-sen, covers an area of 52,000 square meters, with an exhibition area of 6,670 sq m. The museum currently houses 316 sets of precious cultural relics and has been repeatedly recognized among the "Top 10 Popular Memorial Halls and Revolutionary Museums" list.

The Guangzhou Maritime Museum, founded in 2021, manages cultural sites such as the Guangzhou Maritime Museum, the Nansha Temple, the Yuyan Academy, and the Luofeng Temple. The museum's basic display vividly portrays Guangzhou's prosperity and cultural integration during the Tang (618-907) and Song (420-479) dynasties.

The selection and grading of these museums highlight Guangdong's rich cultural heritage and history, attracting a large number of visitors and receiving widespread acclaim.
