For four consecutive years, Huangpu district in Guangzhou has achieved an excellent rating in the city's river chief system assessment, ranking first across the city.
Since the implementation of the river chief system, Huangpu has comprehensively launched water environment comprehensive remediation, striving to address management challenges and slowly winning the battle for clean water.

In recognition of its water conservancy projects, Huangpu district was selected as an excellent pilot city for water reuse allocation by the Ministry of Water Resources.
The district's outstanding performance is attributed to the establishment of a sound river and lake management protection framework, the implementation of a comprehensive river and lake management system, strengthened supervision and assessment, and the realization of joint riverbank governance. Additionally, Huangpu emphasizes public participation in water governance, creating grassroots water governance platforms and thoroughly implementing water conservation measures.
Huangpu is also accelerating the construction of greenway systems, completing over 128 kilometers of greenways throughout the year, helping to improve rural landscapes. In terms of infrastructure construction, Huangpu has made progress over 60 water projects throughout the year, with an investment of approximately 21 billion yuan ($2.89 billion).
