Currently, Guangdong province prioritizes the development of a strategic emerging industry cluster in semiconductors and integrated circuits. As the host of the conference, Huangpu is supporting the integrated circuit industry's advancement, aligning with Guangdong's ambition to establish itself as a leading hub for China's integrated circuit industry.
The region has attracted over 150 integrated circuit companies, representing nearly 90 percent of Guangzhou's market share, forming a complete industry chain encompassing "chip design-wafer manufacturing-packaging testing-equipment materials components-end applications."
The three major integrated circuit clusters in Huangpu have started to take shape. In the northern region, the Guangzhou Knowledge City is currently developing a chip industry manufacturing zone and intends to establish a Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Integrated Circuit Industry Park. Simultaneously, in the central region, the Guangzhou Science City is evolving into a research and design aggregation zone, while efforts are underway in the southern region to establish an application scenario exhibition area.
Huangpu is accelerating the establishment of development systems and supportive policies, attracting expert teams and talents to drive the high-quality development of the integrated circuit industry.
In the future, Huangpu is poised to leverage technological innovation, innovative models, and institutional mechanism innovations to concentrate on areas such as distinctive processes, smart sensors, and critical material equipment components.
