Business in Huangpu unveils multi-billion ventures with Volkswagen

Huangpu's industrial leaders have teamed up with global titans, marking a significant milestone in collaborative innovation.

Xpeng Motors, one of Huangpu's flagship enterprises, recently sealed a strategic pact with Volkswagen Group (China), with the latter investing €2.5 billion, or 19.44 billion yuan. This alliance aims to integrate Xpeng's cutting-edge electronic architecture into Volkswagen's CMP platform for electric vehicle production in China from 2026.

Xpeng Motors, a frontrunner in smart electric vehicles, is strategically positioned with two major projects in Huangpu, including Xpeng Motors Smart Manufacturing Innovation Center in Guangzhou Knowledge City focusing on research and development, and Xpeng Motors Guangzhou Smart Manufacturing Base, an intelligent plant for connected vehicles already operational since February 2023.

Huangpu is also pushing international hospitality collaboration in other fields. Science City Development Group has partnered with Ascott China to advance the Guangzhou Citadines Luogang project, introducing international-standard accommodation to Huangpu.

The global collaboration is expected to facilitate local growth as these strategic collaborations signify a convergence of global expertise and local innovation, poised to propel Huangpu's economy to new heights, fostering high-quality development and mutual prosperity.
