On April 28, Huangpu district hosted the inaugural Guangzhou Smart Elderly Care Equipment Innovation Design Competition Award Ceremony, alongside the Guangzhou Development District Silver Economy Industry Conference.
Themed technology empowering, silver creating the future, the conference marked Guangzhou's first-ever event dedicated to the silver economy, attracting experts, industry leaders, and enterprises nationwide.
Forty winning projects, selected from competitions spanning smart healthcare, intelligent homes, and safety protection, were showcased. Over 30 companies expressed intent to sign contracts with Huangpu, driving the district into a new trillion-yuan scale in the silver economy industry.

The competition, launched in November 2023, focused on smart elderly care equipment and attracted nearly 400 teams from China, the United States, and Singapore.
The awards ceremony unveiled groundbreaking innovations such as an intelligent watch for precise blood pressure monitoring and smart nursing robots facilitating movement and hygiene.
One standout project, the intelligent real-time monitoring sweat sensor patch from Hong Kong, won the Top Ten Product Innovation Award, offering convenient health monitoring.
Nine key silver economy projects were signed in Huangpu, covering nursing homes, intelligent equipment, and smart care, solidifying its position in the silver economy industry.
Leveraging its robust manufacturing base and favorable business environment, Huangpu aims to gather over 1,000 silver economy enterprises, breaking the 100-billion-yuan scale.
