Industrial growth surges in Huangpu

The Huangpu district in Guangzhou recently held a new industrialization conference, recognizing several outstanding enterprises and announcing the list of enterprises with the most development potential. Among them, Guangzhou Huarui Optoelectronic Material and nine other industrial enterprises were honored.

In 2023, the total industrial output value of Huangpu reached nearly 870 billion yuan ($134.5 billion), with industrial investment showing positive growth, demonstrating strong development momentum.

Huangpu has a strong industrial base with 7,174 industrial enterprises, including 1,325 large-scale industrial enterprises. In 2023, advanced manufacturing accounted for nearly 60 percent of the total industrial output value, with high-tech manufacturing contributing 26.7 percent. Furthermore, investment in high-tech manufacturing increased by 1.1 times, and the zone ranked first in technological innovation capability among national development zones.

Huangpu has established five industrial clusters with an output value exceeding 100 billion yuan each, focused on automobile manufacturing, new displays, green energy, new materials, and beauty and health. It has three industrial clusters with an output value of over 10 billion yuan each, dedicated to biotechnology, high-end equipment, and integrated circuits, indicating broad prospects for development.

Huangpu is committed to building strategic science and technology innovation platform clusters, gathering over 1,000 research institutions, and has attracted over 40,000 science and technology-based small and medium-sized enterprises, demonstrating a continuous surge in innovation vitality.
