As the Chinese Lunar New Year of the Dragon approaches, Guangzhou's Huangpu district has launched a series of Spring Festival events under the theme "Taste the Best of Guangzhou, Play Cool in Huangpu - Enjoy the Most 'in' Huangpu Year."
These events, including a Spring Festival flower market, cultural performances, folk culture dissemination, intangible cultural heritage experiences, and rural tours, aim to provide residents and tourists with a festive and traditional Lunar New Year experience.
Starting from Jan 20, the Huangpu Spring Festival flower market has been unfolding. Combining traditional flower markets with displays of intangible cultural heritage and festive cultural activities, it has attracted many citizens and tourists. Particularly noteworthy is the carnival held from Feb 1 to 5 in the bonded area's Red Wine Street, which merged flower exhibitions with wine culture, offering a one-stop experience of flower viewing, shopping, and wine tasting.
Additionally, Huangpu has meticulously organized a series of cultural and artistic activities. These include the immersive light and shadow stage drama "Huangpu! Huangpu!" performed in the newly opened Huangpu Military Academy-themed cultural and tourist district on Changzhou Island, and the "Seven Seas Setting Sail - Guangzhou and the Maritime Silk Road in the Tang and Song dynasties (618-1279) " exhibition at the Guangzhou Maritime Museum, showcasing the history of Guangzhou's Maritime Silk Road.
Huangpu also arranged a wealth of celebratory activities, such as the "1,000-Person Dumpling Banquet, 10,000-Person Big Pot Dish" and the "Workers' Spring Festival Gala," allowing residents and workers staying in Huangpu to enjoy the warm festive atmosphere together. These activities showcase the local cultural charm and provide residents and tourists with an unforgettable Spring Festival feast.
