Luogang Xiangxue festival 2024 ignites cultural festivities in Guangzhou

The 14th Luogang Xiangxue Cultural Tourism Festival grandly commenced in Huangpu district's Luogang Xiangxue Park in Guangzhou on Jan 3. This significant event, spanning three days, will continue until Jan 5.

This year's Xiangxue festival is centered around Luogang Xiangxue Park as the main venue, with additional activities at Innovation Park and Citizen Plaza. The festival combines various leisure and tourism activities, featuring over 20 vibrant events that blend beautiful scenery with traditional culture for residents and tourists to enjoy.

Since its inception in 2008, the Xiangxue festival has been held annually in conjunction with the plum blossom season. Having hosted 13 editions, the festival has welcomed approximately 7.3 million visitors, establishing itself as a well-known cultural tourism brand in Guangzhou.

This year's festival continues the tradition of plum blossom appreciation. It incorporates elements popular among younger generations, such as onsite brewing of green plum wine and hanfu (traditional Chinese clothing) performances. Additionally, a market featuring 70 stalls of gourmet foods and renowned local products is part of the festival.

Furthermore, Huangpu has organized various cultural and artistic events for public enjoyment and a reading season to foster the Lingnan region's unique "Xiangxue culture."
