Huangpu initiates China's largest hydrogen-powered logistics vehicle project

Recently, Huangpu district held a vehicle delivery ceremony for the first batch of the hydrogen energy logistics vehicle demonstration project by Modern Hydrogen (Guangzhou). 

The official handover of 60 units of 4.5 metric ton hydrogen fuel cell box-type logistics vehicles marks the initiation of the country's largest hydrogen energy demonstration operation project, encompassing 500 hydrogen fuel cell vehicles.

This represents a significant breakthrough in the application of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles in Guangzhou and is the first time in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area that localized production of critical hydrogen energy components and systems has been achieved. These vehicles utilize domestically leading fuel cell technology, with an overall efficiency exceeding 63.8 percent.

Modern Hydrogen has integrated leading global hydrogen fuel cell technologies. In August this year, the company completed the construction of three core component production lines, meeting the annual demand for 2,800 fuel cell vehicles.

As a demonstration area for new energy utilization, Huangpu has enhanced the competitiveness of its hydrogen energy industry by improving infrastructure and strengthening technology research and development. The district has introduced supporting policies, including over 30 million yuan (4.5 million) in industrial chain financial support and a 5 billion yuan hydrogen energy industry fund.

Looking forward, Huangpu is committed to nurturing the hydrogen energy industry, promoting the aggregation of talent, technology, and capital, and aims to build a hundred-billion-yuan-level hydrogen energy industrial cluster by 2030, establishing an internationally leading hydrogen energy industry hub.
