The Huangpu district in Guangzhou recently held its 2023 fourth-quarter major project signing, completion, and trial production event, announcing the completion and trial operation of 111 significant projects.

These projects represent a total investment of approximately 109.8 billion yuan ($16.47 billion), with an expected output and revenue of about 147.2 billion yuan, covering next-generation information technology, integrated circuits, biomedicine, intelligent equipment, and technological research and development.

Among these, 85 are industrial and technological R&D projects, accounting for nearly 80 percent of the total. Furthermore, Huangpu also saw the concentrated signing of 21 significant projects, including several in the low-altitude economy sector.

Concurrently, the district released the Several Measures for Promoting the High-Quality Development of the Low-Altitude Economy in the Guangzhou Development District (Huangpu District) and detailed policy implementation rules, offering subsidies of up to 30 million yuan for eligible low-altitude industrial projects.

In addition to these, Huangpu has been actively developing major scientific facilities, innovation platforms, and testing and inspection projects, including the Guangzhou Research Institute of Xidian University and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Branch of the World Meteorological Center (Beijing).

These projects underline Huangpu's ongoing efforts to strengthen its position as a center for high-quality regional development.
