Updated : 2023-09-25

Sept 23 marks the autumn equinox and the 2023 Chinese Farmers' Harvest Festival. To celebrate, the opening ceremony of the Luoping Academician Port and the groundbreaking ceremony for the Luoping Spirit Inheritance Hall took place in Huangpu district, Guangzhou.

Longping Academician Port is located on Changzhou Island in Huangpu and is led by Academician Yuan Longping. Construction on the Luo Ping Port, with a total area of 100,000 square meters, began in March 2021.

It aims to become a benchmark park for agricultural science and technology in Guangzhou, a hub for the transformation of agricultural science and technology achievements in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and a world-class agricultural science and technology research and development center.

At the event, contract signing ceremonies were held for the second batch of nine projects to be built in the port. In addition, the Luoping Agricultural Industry Development Fund was established, while the Luoping Spirit Inheritance Hall project was launched simultaneously.

In recent years, Huangpu district has created a number of high-standard farmlands, high-value industrial parks, high-quality communities, and beautiful parks. The agricultural, forestry, animal husbandry, and fishery output value of the district has ranked first in the city for two consecutive years.
