Guangzhou metro lines prep for year-end launch

Guangzhou's Huangpu district announced the latest advancements in its construction of new subway lines. The eastern extension of line 5 and the second phase of line 7 are now entering the operational testing phase and are expected to be operational within this year.

The eastern extension of line 5 spans approximately 9.76 kilometers and features six stations. The second phase of line 7 has a total length of 22 km and features 11 stations. The structural engineering work on both projects has reached 99 percent completion.

Simultaneously, the developments of line 12 and line 13 are progressing at a fast pace, indicating a forthcoming expansion of Guangzhou's subway network. The city aims to provide its citizens with more convenient transportation services.
