Kezhu-Kelin tunnel boosts Huangpu, Tianhe connectivity

Guangzhou's Kezhu-Kelin intersection tunnel recently opened to traffic, providing a major boost to commuters in the metropolis.

Spanning the districts of Huangpu and Tianhe, the tunnel boasts a length of approximately 0.85 kilometers and has six lanes in both directions with a design speed of 60 km/h. 

Notably, a section of the tunnel stretching 643 meters includes an open segment running 533 m and a 110 m underground section.

To ensure efficient drainage during the rainy season, a pump station equipped with four high-powered pumps has been established within the tunnel. 

The infrastructure enhancement is expected to greatly facilitate commuting for local residents, teachers and students and promises to bolster regional development.
