Huangpu wins big at China patent awards

Recently, the National Intellectual Property Administration announced the results of the 24th China Patent Awards. Huangpu district was honored with 62 awards, including three silver awards and 59 excellence awards. 

This represents a 55 percent increase from the previous edition, ranking Huangpu first across Guangzhou.

Huangpu district is the only comprehensive intellectual property reform pilot area that was approved by the State Council. It saw the authorization of 10,657 patents in the first half of 2023, and its effective invention patent count has reached 29,365.

Furthermore, the region has actively carried out initiatives to enhance patent quality, fostering innovation in intellectual property finance and patent transformation. It is also strengthening its intellectual property protection work to better serve the high-quality development of the real economy.

Huangpu's continuous advancement in intellectual property development and technological innovation demonstrates its firm commitment to accelerating the transition from a "manufacturing hub" to a "stronghold for intelligent manufacturing."
