Hua Ting Fang: Huangpu's new cultural landmark

Updated : 2023-05-09

Hua Ting Fang in Huangpu district, Guangzhou, opened to the public during the May Day holiday and has quickly become a popular spot for tourists and locals alike.

This traditional village dates back to the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) and is home to numerous ancient buildings with Lingnan characteristics.

To preserve the village's ancient buildings, the construction team used traditional disassembly methods to relocate and reconstruct the Shao Lan Zhong Gong Temple. The team also sourced special red bricks from local villagers to restore the buildings' original appearance.

Hua Ting Fang also took advantage of its slanted height difference to create sunken courtyards and water displays, adding immersive scenery to the traditional village.

Hua Ting Fang is a multifunctional complex, consisting of three main areas: a historical and cultural area, a food and beverage area, and a shopping and sightseeing area. It provides visitors with a full cultural experience, including art, leisure, and shopping, while also showcasing Lingnan culture.

In the future, Hua Ting Fang plans to introduce more folk activities, such as temple fairs, cultural festivals, Cantonese opera, and fish lamp markets, creating a new cultural IP.
