Huangpu opens Guangdong's 1st AI canteen

Huangpu district has recently opened Guangdong's first licensed AI canteen, with the necessary authorization obtained thanks to the district market supervision bureau's first intelligent mobile micro-canteen pilot registration certificate.

The AI canteen is located in the Guangzhou Human Resources Service Industry Park and is equipped with an AI smart cooking machine that works as both a chef and a waiter, occupying only 2.5 square meters. 

It can simultaneously cook 36 or more dishes and can serve up to 200 meals during peak hours. The canteen is the only one in the country that can realize fresh production, automatic cooking, intelligent control, and batch cooking while emitting no smoke, steam, or oil.

The ordering system is also automated, with employees being able to place their orders through the WeChat mini program and receive a pickup code. The AI machine then provides them with a steaming hot meal, based on the pickup code and the machine's prompt. 

The AI canteen's innovation aims to reduce canteen construction costs by 50 to 60 percent and reduce comprehensive operating costs by 40 to 80 percent for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). It is also a more hygienic option since it produces non-pre-packaged ready-to-eat food.

Currently, there are around 150,000 SMEs in Huangpu, most of which cannot afford to build canteens. The intelligent mobile micro-canteens are an affordable solution for these businesses. Apart from enterprises, intelligent mobile micro-canteens can also be applied to schools and hospitals.

The licensing of an AI canteen and the issuance of the first intelligent mobile micro-canteen pilot registration certificate in Guangdong demonstrates Huangpu district's commitment to providing great and stable enterprise services. It is also a step forward in terms of industrialization, scaling, and intelligence in the catering industry.
